Auburn Scouts Do a Good Turn Daily

Venture Crew # 41 the Native American Culture and general interest is based out of Divernon, Ill and our sponsor is the Divernon American Legion, 233 S. 2nd St in Divernon. This crew is for either boys or girls, ages 14 to 21 years of age, who have interest or is interested in Native American Culture. We are changing our meeting to saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm at the legion hall in Divernon. We will be working on not only the Native American Culture. but also working on outdoor area's as well. Some of those area's are Shooting Sports, Climbing wall, repelling, winter sports, caving, and a lot more. We also have a second meeting place that we will start holding meetings at, that will be at Gander Mountains, in Springfield, in their conference room.

Venturing offers a program that is fun and full of challenge and adventure for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.
Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Some of the area's that we would like to do in this Crew are the following: Climbing Wall, Repelling, winter sports, shooting sports, getting scuba certification and doing some scuba diving, Going to varies Powwow's, etc. We are also interested in what you would like to do. I would like to let everyone know that last saturday night, the crew had it's potluck/court of honor in Divernon. We recognized two of our crew members with receiving their Bronze Award and their Outdoor award. These two were: Evan Richards and Ben Nichols. We are looking to present a lot more of these awards in the very near future. Congrat's to these two.

Saturday night at the Venturing/Explorer Recognition Dinner was held. Crew 41 had three individuals that were honored as Venturer's of the year. They were as follows: Evan Richards, Davy Kodatt, and Connie Smith.
