Boy scout summer camp 2009

This is the page for information about the summer camp for 2009 we will be going to the same camp as last year, SAUKENAUK SCOUT RESERVATION. The boys really liked last year and the staff at the camp did a good job.I have  a link here to go to the a couple of pages that may be of interest.

Information on fund raisers and fees.We are having 3 fund raisers.

  • April 18th at Lowes on the west side of Springfield.
  • May 2 at Lowes and Sams
  • May 30 Lowes and Sams.

Since the first fund raiser is before the WEBLOS 2 come to the troop any WEBLOS 2 that are going to summer camp with the Troop is invited to join this fund raiser those not going to summer camp are not invited to this fund raiser. The second and third are open to all in the troop including all boys who are crossing over On May 1st. If the money is not used for summer camp it can be used for other camp outs.Camp fees are $200 if we recieve them before May 20th or $210 after that point.Requirements for summer camp.

  1. All boys going to camp must have a physical within the last 3 years. We need a copy to take with us.
  2. Boys need to check if the merit badges they are taking need any extra materials if they do they will need money to buy these kits at camp.
  3. The boys will need spending money. $20 should be more than enough unless they wish to buy a shirt or other expensive items.
  4. Please check the planning to camp links to see a list of items needed. remember we are camping in tents so pack accordingly.
  5. Cell phones can be taken but we ask that they not be used unless it is required for some special reason. We really would like them to be left at home or turned in to the leaders so they are not lost or damaged.
  6. We all know scouts are Honest, trustworthy and all but we know that this is not always the case so we really do not want expesive items brought to camp.
  7. No guns of any type are allowed at camp. This includes Airsoft, bb guns ect.
  8. Campers bellow first class would be well advised to do the T21 program as this will help to get to first class.
  9. Scouts doing merit badges should look at this link at the merit badge offerings.
  10. Scouts doing T21 will be able to do at least one merit badge.

Camp fees are due to the Troop by May 20th to allow time to get it to the camp.
